We advised a client involved in the production and export of refined edible oils, as well as their maritime transportation, on business structuring and corporate law during the formation of a holding company. Our legal guidance covered the optimal corporate structure to facilitate the client's international operations, ensuring compliance with both local and international regulations. Similar to our work in the
IT sector legal reorganization, this project required alignment with evolving cross-border corporate frameworks.
Additionally, we provided comprehensive legal consultations on contract law, assisting the client in drafting and reviewing agreements. Our
contract law advisory approach ensured clarity and enforceability across all key commercial agreements. We also clarified the complex nuances of sanctions legislation, ensuring that all transactions were structured in accordance with relevant sanctions regulations, thereby mitigating any potential legal risks. Our experience in
grain acquisition legal help was particularly relevant, given the regulatory overlap and geopolitical factors affecting transport and export logistics. Broader financial supervision insights from the
FINMA 2022 report also informed our compliance approach. We also prepared the client for upcoming regulatory changes, such as the
VAT increase in Switzerland in 2024, relevant for goods moving through Swiss corporate entities.
